Stone and chisel, a combination that the artisan producer handles with mastery, chooses the hard, rocky basalt-type stone and begins to work on it. Pre-Hispanic piece essential in Mexican cuisine. Its name comes from its Nahuatl origin molli (sauce) and caxitl (cajete), mollicaxtli. Cardeña’s selection is from Michoacán.
Its unique design with cross details is achieved through different techniques: percussion, pressure or wear. The peculiarity is that it not only comes with its Tejolote (mallet) but also with a lid.
All of our products are lead-free and handmade, so some design and/or color variations may be found other than the images. Contact us for more information at our email contacto@cardenna.com.
